Understanding your AI credits

How credits work, when they reset, and what counts against the cap.

Updated April 12, 2026

What counts as 1 credit

Every call to the AI costs 1 credit. That means:

  • Generating a routine = 1 credit
  • Generating a program = 1 credit per week generated (a 4-week program = 4 credits)
  • Requesting AI coach feedback = 1 credit
  • AI analysis on exercise history = 1 credit

Manual routines and programs don't cost anything. Neither does logging workouts, doing check-ins, or browsing the exercise library.

How the cycle works

Free users get 3 credits per cycle. Paid self-coached users get 25. Your cycle runs on your signup anniversary — if you signed up on the 14th, your credits reset on the 14th of each month. This is different from calendar months.

How to check your remaining credits

The dashboard shows your remaining credits next to the Generate New Routine section. It updates immediately after each AI call.

What happens when you hit the cap

The AI generation button turns off with a message showing your usage and reset date. You can still:

  • Build routines and programs manually
  • Log workouts on existing routines
  • Do daily check-ins
  • View your history and stats

Tip

If you want more credits and don't want to wait for a cycle reset, you can upgrade to paid Self-Coached ($9/mo, 25 credits). The paid tier is coming soon — for now the free tier is your only option.
