Building routines and programs without AI

Skip AI credits and build workouts by hand using the exercise library.

Updated April 12, 2026

Why build manually?

Three reasons: you're out of AI credits, you already have a routine you want to log against, or you want full control over exercise selection. Manual builds don't cost anything and don't count against your AI cap.

Building a single routine

  1. On the dashboard, click Build Manually (no AI credits) under Generate New Routine.
  2. Name the routine.
  3. Search the exercise library by name or filter by type (release, stretch, activation, strengthening, mobility).
  4. Click an exercise to add it. Set the sets, reps, weight, duration, and notes.
  5. Reorder exercises with the up/down arrows. Delete with the × button.
  6. Add general notes for the whole routine if you want.
  7. Click Create Routine. You're redirected to the workout page to start logging.

Can't find an exercise?

Click Add custom exercise and type the name. Custom exercises are saved to your account and don't affect the main library.

Building a multi-week program

Under Build a Program, click Build Manually. You go through two steps: program settings (name, weeks, start date, training days), then building a routine for each day of the week. That routine repeats every week for the duration of the program.

Example: a 4-week 3x/week program where Day A is push, Day B is pull, Day C is legs. You build three routines (one per day) and the system creates 12 program entries (3 days × 4 weeks).

Tip

Manual routines immediately show up in your 'Coming Up' and can be started right away. No waiting, no approval — you're your own coach.
