When to build manually
- You already know exactly what you want — the AI would just be in the way.
- You're out of AI credits this cycle.
- You're building a standard template you reuse across clients (you can duplicate it later).
- You're working with a client on a highly specific protocol where you don't want AI interpretation.
How to do it
- On the client page, click Build Manually (or Generate Routine → Build Manually).
- Name the routine.
- Use the exercise search to add exercises. You can filter by type (release, stretch, activation, strengthening, mobility) or search by name.
- For each exercise, set sets, reps, weight, duration, and notes.
- Reorder with the up/down arrows, delete with ×.
- Add general notes for the whole routine.
- Click Create Routine.
The result
A manual routine is saved as a DRAFT by default. You still need to approve it before sending to the client. This is deliberate — the same review-before-send workflow as AI routines, so there's no shortcut around coach oversight.
Custom exercises
If the library is missing something, click Add custom exercise. Custom exercises are private to your account unless you're in an organization that shares them. They count toward the AI when generating routines for the same client.
Note
Manual builds don't consume AI credits. Only AI-generated routines do. Use the manual builder freely — it's the same underlying data model.
