Adding your first client

Create a client profile and send them an invite to the client portal.

Create the client profile first

Before you can invite a client to the portal, you need to create their profile with the context the AI needs to program for them. This takes about 3 minutes.

  1. From the dashboard, click Add New Client.
  2. Enter their name and email (both optional technically, but the email is needed for the invite).
  3. Fill in age range, sex, occupation, and activity level.
  4. Enter their training goal. Be specific — 'Build strength for powerlifting meet in May' is better than 'get stronger.'
  5. Add restrictions and problem areas. These matter — the AI uses them to avoid dangerous exercises.
  6. Select available equipment.
  7. If you know their current working weights on key lifts, add them to the lifting profile. This gives the AI real numbers to work with from day one.
  8. Save.

Send them the portal invite

Once the profile exists, you'll see an Invite to Portal button. Click it to generate a secure link and send them an email. The link is valid for 7 days.

The invite email contains a one-time setup link where they'll create their password. After that, they log in at ptlabapp.com/login with their email and password.

Starter tier client limit

You can have up to 3 clients on the free Starter tier. Once you hit that, the Add New Client button disables. Upgrade to Pro (10 clients) or Team/Business when you're ready to grow.

Tip

The more detailed the profile, the better the AI's first routine will be. Spend an extra minute entering problem areas with notes — 'left shoulder, rotator cuff surgery 2022, no overhead loading' is much more useful than just 'shoulder.'
